ANGUS YOUNG ...LIKE THE HIGH VOLTAGE !!!

Angus Young (born on 31 March 1955) is a guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. Young is known for his wild stage energy and schoolboy-uniform stage outfits. He was ranked 96th on Rolling Stone's list the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Angus Young was brought up in Cranhill, Glasgow with his older brothers Malcolm, George, Alex, who all became musicians. Angus started playing guitar when he was five years old — a local child had one and Angus would play it during visits. He got his own guitar by taking a banjo

Young did not get into guitar-playing seriously until after the Young family moved from Scotland to Australia in 1963. He bought his first guitar, a Gibson SG, after seeing it in a friend's catalogue. Until then, he had been playing on an old guitar he inherited from his brother Malcolm.[citation needed] Malcolm's brother George (of The Easybeats) gave both Angus and Malcolm guitar lessons when he would come home during breaks from touring.
Prior to joining AC/DC, Young played in a local group called Kantuckee. Kantuckee's lineup included Bob McGlynn (vocals), Angus Young (guitar), Jon Stevens (bass) & Trevor James (drums). This was the first band to record the music for Stevie Wrights classic "Evie" at the request of George Young. The band split and was later called Tantrum with the following line up Mark Sneddon (vocals-guitar), Angus Young (guitar), Jon Stevens (bass) and Trevor James (drums)

AC/DC
Angus and Malcolm Young formed AC/DC in 1973. The first line up included Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar, Colin Burgess on drums, Larry Van Kriedt on bass guitar and Dave Evans singing. They got the name AC/DC after seeing the letters AC/DC on the back of a sewing machine owned by their sister, Margaret.
After playing with the band for a while, Young developed his trademark schoolboy image. Before settling on the schoolboy costume, Angus had tried other costumes, such as Spider-man, Zorro, a gorilla, and a parody of Superman, named Super-Ang. The schoolboy costume became a signature trademark of Young. To match this image the press and public were told that Young was born in 1959, not 1955. The original uniform was reputedly from his secondary school, Ashfield Boys High School in Sydney. One rumour is that he did not have time to change his clothes between school and band practice, and simply wore the uniform; while such an event may have occurred years earlier, by 1973, Angus had long left school. His sister Margaret suggested he wear the uniform after Malcolm asked each band member to come up with their own gimmick, which was ironic as Angus very much disliked being at school. This was the era of glam rock, when costumes were common for pop and rock acts.

Although Young prefers to keep his private life out of the media, it is known that he now lives in Sydney, Australia and also has a home in Aalten, Netherlands (because he has a home in the Netherlands, he is also on the Quote 500, the list of Holland's 500 richest people). It is also known that he married his wife Ellen in 1980 shortly before Bon Scott died.
On August 24, 2006, Young received Kerrang! magazine's Legend Award from the editor, Paul Brannigan. Brannigan called AC/DC "one of the most important and influential rock bands in history." Angus Young is now considered by many, as one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time.

Guitars
Angus Young has used Gibson SGs in various forms (his original, and the basis for his current signature model, was a 1968 SG) throughout his career. He is rarely seen with another guitar. However, he also owns Telecasters, Gibson Firebirds and ES335s. When AC/DC played a jam of "Rock me Baby" with the Rolling Stones in 2003, he played a Gibson ES-335, perhaps one of the only times he was without an SG onstage. Young's legendary 1968 SG has T Top pickups. Another 1964 SG that he used on the recording of Ballbreaker, has patent # pickups. All of these are low to medium output Alnico 5 pickups with matched coils.

Angus Young Signature SG
Angus Young and Gibson Guitar Corporation have collaborated to make the Angus Young Signature SG, which is special in a several ways.
The model features a pickup designed by Young himself (the Angus Young Signature Humbucker) in the bridge position, and a '57 Classic Humbucker in the neck. The headstock features Young's famous "Devil Schoolboy" engraved picture, and the tremolo bar features Angus' name instead of the Gibson logo. The guitar has a rosewood fingerboard, trapezoid fret inlays, a signature black pickguard, 22 frets, a worn cherry finish, and nickel hardware. The volume and tone knobs are bigger than those of a regular SG but it still features the standard 3-way selector switch. He also removed the "Whammy Bar" with an ABR bridge and Engraved Lyre Vibrola tailpiece.
Angus Young first adopted this guitar in 1981, and has been a trademark of his. He used it at the Live at Donnington' concert, and he records with it. However, Young rarely plays his signature series guitar at live concerts.

Amplifiers
Young's amps have been plexi Marshalls: JTM45s, JTM50s, JMP50s and Superleads (plus a few Wizard amplifiers). His main amp is his JTM45, which he uses both live and in the studio. When Young plays live, he runs this through an isolation speaker box that sits under the stage and feeds directly into the PA system. In the studio, Angus has often used a 100w plexi for riffs and a smaller plexi (jmp50, jtm50, or jtm45) for solos. Speaker cabinets he has used have been Marshall 4x12"s (model 1982 and 1960, mostly B models) with Celestion G12H 30 watt (on old recordings), Vintage 30s (on newer recordings) and G12M 25 watt speakers (on solos/overdubs on newer recordings). Malcolm has used Mesa Boogie Cabs before as seen on AC/DC's 1992 live album, Live. Angus is said to, by Marshall, use the 1987X 50watt head.

PAUL GILBERT god of alternate picking

Paul Brandon Gilbert (born November 6, 1966 in Illinois) is a guitarist best known for his work with Racer X and Mr. Big. Following his departure from Mr. Big in 1996, Gilbert pursued a solo career.Born in Carbondale, Illinois, into a middle class family, Paul started playing guitar at the age of 5, but soon gave up, becoming frustrated with just learning simple nursery rhymes. Around age 9, he took up the guitar again, but with a skewed memory of the technique. Paul revealed at an Ibanez sponsored guitar clinic August 12, 2005 in Concord, CA at Spitzer's Music, that he "played only with upstrokes, used only the low 'E' string and only used [his] middle finger on the fretboard." Frustrated after trying to play the intro to "Barracuda" by Heart, he took lessons and his teacher explained the error of his ways. His technique corrected, Gilbert continued practicing and by the age of 14 he developed a local band in Greensburg, PA named Missing Lynx. They played together for approximately two years and wrote their own material. After Missing Lynx he then went on to join another local band called Tau Zero, but left shortly after, and headed for California. He was spotlighted in Guitar Player Magazine alongside fellow up-and-comer Yngwie Malmsteen.

Influences and Style
Talking about his influences, Paul mentions many different artists, including Jimmy Page, Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen, Akira Takasaki, Kiss, Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, and The Ramones. He is also a great fan of The Beach Boys and The Beatles. He states on the Space Ship Live DVD that George Harrison is one of his favorite guitar players.
Gilbert composes music in a wide variety of styles including pop, rock, metal, blues, jazz, funk and classical, but is perhaps best known for his versatility and speed, which helped him be named as one of the "Top 10 Shredders Of All Time" by Guitar One Magazine. He is also considered to be one of the best proponents of alternate picking and string skipping.

Paul has an endorsement deal with Ibanez guitars, and uses the PGM signature series. His main guitar is a PGM300. However, a few years ago he decided to convert it from a Floyd Rose tremolo model to a fixed bridge model, so Ibanez produced a model based on it which is called the PGM301. The majority of his guitars feature painted "f-holes". He is often seen with Laney amplifiers, and praises them as having "the best natural distortion of any tube amp ever heard." In the gear section of Paul's website, he claims through playing with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci, he was inspired to take a closer look at his own guitar sound. As a result of his search he found the Marshall Vintage Modern series. Paul will be using two 2266c combo amps on the European G3 tour. Gilbert uses few effects, especially in comparison to some of his peers. He uses a Dunlop Wah, a delay,T.C electronic flanger/chorus, Electro-Harmonix electric mistress flanger and an MXR phase 90, running the delay pedal in the effects loop of his Laney amps. On stage he has also been seen using a Fulltone OCD Overdrive, most recently at The Benefit for Cliff concert that took place at the House of Blues Los Angeles September 30, 2006.
He used ADA preamps and rack effects units prior to switching to Laney. He currently uses the Marshall Vintage Modern 2266c combo amps.
Paul has also used a vintage ADA Flanger from the 70s. You can hear it on tracks like 'Bucket of Rocks' and he also uses it on the 'Snowball of Doom' DVD.
Paul claims the Flanger has been modified and he uses it to change the pitch from high to low to create a sound similar to a dive bomb.
In the intro to "Get Out Of My Yard" Paul uses a Boss DD-3 Delay pedal to achieve the altered pitch looped effect at the beginning of the track. This was also demonstrated by Paul on the instructional DVD of the same name.

ZAKK WYLDE BORN TO BE WILD !

Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt on January 14, 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey) is a lead guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter, best known for his role as founder of Black Label Society and guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. Wylde was lead guitarist and vocalist in Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist he released the critically acclaimed Book of Shadows in 1996.

Wylde started playing the guitar at the age of 15 and worked at Silverton Music in Silverton, New Jersey. He grew up in Jackson, New Jersey, and went to Jackson Memorial High School there, where he graduated in 1985. Wylde has stated that he would practice playing the guitar as much as 12 hours per day and often would play the guitar almost non-stop between coming home from school and leaving for school the next morning, then sleeping through the school day.
Growing up, Wylde played locally with his first band, "Stone Henge", then later with local Jersey band "Zyris". He was taught by neo classical guitarist Sean Roche. Years later, the then unknown 19 year-old Wylde landed the coveted role as lead guitarist and co-writer for Ozzy Osbourne. He sent Ozzy a demo tape in 1987 and was hired to replace Jake E. Lee. Jake E. Lee had replaced the deceased Randy Rhoads, an idol of Wylde's, for whom he even built a shrine.
Wylde's then-girlfriend (now wife) Barbaranne heard Ozzy was looking for a new guitarist on the Howard Stern radio show. While playing at a local gig, a photographer (Mark Weiss) spoke to Wylde urging him to audition for Ozzy, and offered to send a press kit along to Osbourne; Wylde, who at the time was working at a local Getty gas station, decided he had nothing to lose. Ozzy dismissed the tape among thousands of others as "just another Randy Rhoads clone". But a couple of weeks later, Randy Castillo, Ozzy's drummer at the time told him he'd found a great guitarist from New Jersey. Wylde recalled how he received a phone call from Sharon Osbourne (thinking it was one of his friends' mother) telling him there was a ticket for him to fly out and audition for Ozzy. Wylde has said that he was hired on the spot before even playing, while he was still tuning his guitar. The truth of this is unknown as Wylde is known for joking with interviewers. The first material he released with Osbourne was No Rest for the Wicked in 1988.
Zakk Wylde's guitar-playing style is characterized by his use of pinch harmonics and wide/aggressive vibrato. His guitar soloing technique is usually characterized by use of the minor pentatonic scale, playing rapid box-pattern licks using strict alternate-picking, creating a very distinctive, choppy style of playing. Another notable feature of Wylde's playing is his liberal use of "chicken pickin'," a technique which is usually associated with country music, and which is (comparatively) rarely seen in heavy metal; a technique he has stated as being picked up from watching Albert Lee.
He is known for his use of Gibson Les Paul Custom model guitars with a unique "bulls-eye" graphic on them, a design he used to deliberately differentiate himself visually from Randy Rhoads - who was also frequently identified by his white Les Paul Custom. Interestingly, one of Wylde's favorite stage guitars of late is a replica of Rhoads' Flying V. The "bulls-eye" paint job was originally supposed to look like the spiral from the movie Vertigo, but when it came back incorrect from the luthier, he liked the result and stuck with it.
Wylde's signature Les Paul's include, a red and flame-maple bulls-eye model, a black and antique-white bulls-eye model, an orange "buzz-saw" model, which Zakk got the pattern off a zippo lighter , and a "camo" bulls-eye model with mother of pearl neck inlays and a green camouflage paint scheme. His original bulls-eye Les Paul was bought from a regular store front and is christened "The Grail". It was lost to Wylde for some time when it fell off the truck as he was coming back from a gig in Texas. Rewards were posted to anyone that had information about the guitar - it holds sentimental value to him since it was a graduation gift from his parents.
Wylde and The Grail were only reunited years later, after a fan bought it at a pawn shop and realized he may very well have the missing guitar after checking the initials "Z.W." on its back and the serial number marked on the headstock. He then contacted Wylde's former webmaster Randy Canis to arrange its return.
Ozzy has always left the option open to his band members to leave if they wish, but Wylde has stayed faithfully by Ozzy's side ever since he was a teenager.
Wylde has stated that he has no respect for musicians who release material "not true to themselves". Randy Rhoads is probably the biggest influence.
On January 17, 2006, Zakk Wylde was immortalized at the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame located at 7425 Sunset Blvd, featuring his hand prints and signature, in recognition to his successful career as a musician and contribution to music industry. The event was open to the public and many rock celebrities were present, including Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne was auditioning new guitarists for future material in 2005/2006 but announced Wylde as the official guitarist for his new album as a follow-up to his last studio release, "Down To Earth".
Black Label Society's new album, "Shot To Hell", was released on September 11th , 12th (US) through Roadrunner records with production by Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden Ozzy Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Black Label Society headlined the 2nd stage at the 2006 Ozzfest, with Wylde playing double duty with Ozzy on certain dates. Ozzy's new album, Black Rain, was released in May 2007. Zakk is currently working a new film called The Berserkers, with Zakk taking on responsibilities for script and production.

Zakk Wylde uses all of the following guitars on and off stage:
Gibson Les Paul Custom with "Bullseye" Graphics (one in black and white, one in black and mirror, and one in red and natural)
Gibson "Buzzsaw" Les Paul Custom (the design was taken from that of a Zippo lighter)
Gibson "Black Label Society" Les Paul Custom
Gibson "Rebel" Les Paul Custom decorated with the confederate flag and bottle caps
Gibson "Camo Bullseye" Les Paul custom. He named it 'Stormin Norman'
Jackson Rhoads
Dean Bulls-eye Razorback (Given to him by Dimebag Darrell days before his death and signed by him; this guitar is usually only seen once per performance, when Zakk is playing the song "In This River")
Gibson Flying V with a bull's eye paint design
GMW Randy Rhoads Flying V in white with black polka dots
GMW Randy Rhoads Flying V in black with white polka dots (the polka-dot guitars were made custom for Zakk in honor of Randy Rhoads. Both of these guitars also feature a Floyd Rose tremolo.)
Gibson EDS-1275, black/mirror pickguard with EMG pickups (seen in the music video for "In This River") and a white one with standard pickups, seen while performing Bark at the Moon live Dean "Muddy Bullseye" Splittail with Bullseye Graphics
Custom Gibson guitar made similarly to the Dean Splittail with bullseye graphics
Gibson EDS-1275 (white with gold pickups) used for "Mama I'm Comin' Home" live with Ozzy Osbourne. (can be seen in Osbourne's "Live At Budokan" DVD)
His guitars are all outfitted with his Dunlop Zakk Wylde strings and his signature set of active
EMG 81 and EMG 85 pick-ups with the exception of the Razorback.
He usually gives preference to Marshall amplifiers such as the JCM800 2203. He has his own Signature JCM800ZW Amp with replaced tubes (GT 6550) and cabinet loaded with EVM12L-Black Label guitar speakers. Jim Dunlop worked with Zakk to design two effects pedals, the Dunlop Zakk Wylde CryBaby, and the MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive pedal. Also on his pedal board is a Dunlop Rotovibe, a MXR EVH Phase 90 and a BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus. In the past, his pedal board consisted of a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Crybaby, a Dunlop Rotovibe, a BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive and a BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus.

Yngwie J. Malmsteen... faster than speed of light !

Yngwie Johann Malmsteen (born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck on June 30, 1963 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish guitarist, composer and bandleader. Widely recognised for his expert guitar skills, Malmsteen achieved widespread acclaim in the 1980s for his technical fluency and his use of the shred guitar technique, and neo-classical metal genre.

Malmsteen was born on June 30, 1963 into a musically talented family in Stockholm, Sweden. Malmsteen was the youngest child in the family. On September 18, 1970, at age seven, he saw a television news broadcast reporting on the death of Jimi Hendrix which caused him to become obsessed with the guitar. The news segment showed only a clip of Jimi Hendrix burning his guitar, but no actual songs. To quote his official website, "The day Jimi Hendrix died, the guitar-playing Malmsteen was born".
At the age of 10 he took his mother's maiden name Malmsteen as his surname, and Anglicised his given name Yngve to "Yngwie".
Malmsteen was a teenager when he first encountered the music of the 19th century violin virtuoso Niccolò Paganii, whom he cites as his biggest classical music influence. Through his emulation of Paganini concerto pieces on guitar, Malmsteen developed a prodigious technical fluency. Malmsteen also cites Jimi Hendrix, Brian May of Queen, Steve Hacket of Genesis, Uli Jon Roth, and Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple as influences. His nickname at the time in Stockholm was 'Ritchie Blackmore'.
Malmsteen broke new ground and contributed to the evolution of modern rock guitar, particularly with his embracing of modal progressions and classically-influenced techniques that are less common in rock music. He is often credited, along with Randy Rhoads, with increasing the popularity of the neoclassical heavy metal genre and inspiring a new generation of electric guitarists including Paul Gilbert, Michael Romeo, Jason Becker, Chris Impellitteri, and Tony MacAlpine.

In late 1982 Malmsteen was brought to the U.S. by Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records, who had heard a demo tape of Malmsteen's playing. He had brief engagements with Steeler, for their self-titled album of 1983, then Alcatrazz, for their 1983 debut No Parole From Rock N' Roll, and the 1984 live album Live Sentence. Malmsteen released his first solo album Rising Force in 1984, which featured Barrie Barlow of Jethro Tull on drums. His album was really meant to be an instrumental side-project of Alcatrazz, but it contained vocals, and Malmsteen left Alcatrazz soon after the release of Rising Force. It was a success; it was the winner of Guitar PlayerMagazine's Best Rock Album and was also nominated for a Grammy for 'Best Rock Instrumental', achieving #60 on the Billboard album chart. Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force (as his band was thereafter known) next released Marching Out (1985). Jeff Scott Soto filled vocal duties on these initial albums
His third album, Trilogy, featuring the vocals of Mark Boals, was released in 1986. In 1987, yet another singer, former Rainbow vocalist Joe Lynn Turner joined his band. That year, Malmsteen was in a serious car accident, smashing his Jaguar XKE into a tree and putting him in a coma for a week. Nerve damage to his right hand was reported. In a tragic twist of fate, during his time in the hospital, Malmsteen's mother died from cancer.
In the summer of 1988 he released his fourth album, Odyssey. Odyssey would be his biggest hit album, mainly because of its first single "Heaven Tonight". Shows in Russia during the Odyssey tour were recorded, and released in 1989 as his fifth album Trial By Fire: Live in Leningrad. The concert in Leningrad was the largest ever by a western artist in the Soviet Union.
In late 1988, Malmsteen's signature Fender Stratocaster guitar was released, making him and Eric Clapton the first artists to be honoured by Fender.
Malmsteen's "Neo-classical" style of metal became moderately popular during the mid 1980s, with notable contemporaries such as Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine and Vinnie Moore all reaching prominence following Malmsteen. Of that group only Paul Gilbert and Jason Becker claimed Malmsteen as an influence. MacAlpine coming to the neoclassical/shred field by applying his classical piano training to his guitar playing and Moore arriving at a similar style because he shared Malmsteen's major influences, Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and Al Di Meola.

In the early 1990s Malmsteen released the albums Eclipse (1990), The Yngwie Malmsteen Collection(1991), Fire and Ice (1992) and The Seventh Sign (1994).
Despite his early success, and continuous success in Europe and Asia, by the early 1990s stylings of 1980s heavy metal had become unfashionable in the USA. It was quickly displaced by the Seattle grunge movement, where songs that showcased instrumental technical ability were largely shunned.
In the 1990s, Malmsteen continued to record and release albums under the Japanese record label Pony Canyon, and maintained a devoted following from some fans in Europe and Japan, and to a lesser extent in the USA. In 2000, he once again acquired a contract with a US record label, Spitfire, and released his 1990s catalog into the US market for the first time, including what he regards as his masterpiece, Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra, recorded with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague.
In 1993, Malmsteen's mother-in-law, who was opposed to his engagement with her daughter, had him arrested for threatening her with a shotgun and holding her daughter against her will . The charges against Malmsteen were quickly dropped when he denied that the incident ever occurred.

After the release of War to End All Wars in 2000, singer Mark Boals left the band. Malmsteen went on tour with former Ark vocalist Jorn Lande. Due to various tensions on tour, Jorn left before the recording of Malmsteen's next album, Attack!!. He was replaced by former Rainbow vocalist Doogie White. White's vocals were well received by fans, and to date he remains a member of the band.
In 2003, Malmsteen joined Joe Satriani and Steve Vai as part of the G3 supergroup. Malmsteen made two rare guest appearances on keyboardist Derek Sherinian's albums Black Utopia (2003), and Blood of the Snake (2006) where Malmsteen is heard on the same tracks as Al Di Meola and Zakk Wylde.
Malmsteen released Unleash the Fury in 2005. As stated in an issue of "Guitar World" magazine, he titled this album after the infamous 'airline incident', which occurred in a flight to Japan for the 'Odyssey' tour. He was drunk and behaving obnoxiously, until he fell asleep and was roused by a woman pouring a jug of iced water on him. Enraged, he shouted, "You released the fucking fury!" The audio from this incident was caught on tape by a fellow band member.
He is married to April and has a son named Antonio after Antonio Vivaldi. A noted Ferrari enthusiast, he owned a black 1985 308 GTS for 18 years before selling it on eBay, and a red 1962 250 GTO. In recent years, Yngwie has given up both smoking and drinking alcohol (date: April 2007). The Malmsteen family lives in Miami, Florida.
In 2007, Malmsteen was honoured in the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero . Players can receive the "Yngwie Malmsteen" award by hitting 1000 or more notes in succession.
Currently, Malmsteen is working on his next studio album slated for an Autumn 2007 or an early 2008 release.

JIMI HENDRIX LEGEND OF GUITAR HERO

Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942September 18 1970) was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. Hendrix is considered one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in rock music history. After initial success in England, he achieved worldwide fame following his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Later, Hendrix headlined the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival.
Jimi Hendrix helped pioneer the technique of guitar
feedback with overdriven amplifiers, incorporating into his music what was previously an undesirable sound. He built upon the innovations and influences of blues stylists such as B.B.King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, and T-Bone Walker, and derived style from rhythm and blues and soul guitarists Curtis Mayfield, Steve Croppe, and Cornell Dupree, as well as from traditional jazz. Part of Hendrix's flamboyant stage persona may have been inspired by rock pioneer Little Richard, with whom he toured as part of Richard's back-up band, "The Upsetters." Hendrix is also widely thought to be influenced by Pete Townshend of The Who, who performed in London when Hendrix started his career there in 1966. Carlos Santana has also suggested that Hendrix's music may have been influenced by his Native American heritage.
Hendrix strove to combine what he called "earth", a blues, jazz, or funk-driven rhythm accompaniment, with "space", the high-pitched psychedelic sounds created by his guitar improvisations. As a record producer, Hendrix also broke new ground in using the recording studio as an extension of his musical ideas; he was one of the first to experiment with stereophonic and phasing
effects during recording.
Hendrix was inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at 6627 Hollywood Blvd.) was dedicated in 1994. In 2006, his debut album, Are You Experienced, was inducted into the United States National Recording Preservation Board's National Recording Registry. Rolling Stone named Hendrix number 1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in
2003.
